The Durango School District 9-R administration building will be closed to the public Wednesday, November 26th through the 28th. We will return to the offices on Monday, December 1st.

At 10:15am today, Sunnyside lost power due to an off-campus traffic accident.  The school’s water is on a pressurized well system and the school maintained water pressure until 10:45 am.  Students and staff remained engaged in their regular daily schedule and lunch was served as scheduled.  At 11:45 am, no update on progress was available as to the return of power and we prepared to activate the district's emergency response system.

Durango Troupe 1096's production of Les Miserables has been selected to be featured on the Main Stage of the 2014 Colorado State Thespian Conference. Only two productions are chosen for this privilege each year and it is a great honor to have Troupe 1096 selected. This is the first time a troupe from the western slope has had a show presented on this stage.

We are proud to announce that Dale Garland, DHS Student Council Leadership Sponsor, has been named  Student Leadership Advisor of the Year by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).  Dale has sponsored the Student Council Leadership for the last eighteen years and under his direction, the Leadership Team has received the honorary status of National Gold Council of Excellence for the past five years.

Our Girls on the Run (GOTR) teams head to Telluride this Saturday for the official GOTR 5k. The girls will be starting in Town Park and run along the scenic footpath that runs thorugh town.
